Hi,we brought the zenith 6 from go outdoors just before xmas 08,ours is green ,not add a chance to put it up yet, have you or anyone else add any troubles with getting a pitch big enough? also noticed today at go outdoors there is a hi gear sahara tent for sale and is the carbon copy of the zenith 6 but on sale for well over £300 but noticed that the carpet for the hi gear tent was priced at £49.99 and i think i saw that gelert are selling the zenith 6 carpet for £69.99 so if anybody is thinking of getting one try the hi gear carpet and save 20 notes.
yes there are some sites that will not take us with this tent but beachside holiday park will at st ives will as we have booked a week way in may there he was more then happy to take us with a big tent so im well happy

Craig excellent photos! They really do superb job of showing the tent off properly. So much so I gotta get me one! Unfortunately I wont be bagging a bargain like you or the other poster got but with the economic crisis tenting in the UK is becoming more popular so the price of tents has gone up methingks. A strange reverse logic there.
Anyway looking around the internet I found that the Hi Gear Sahara is indeed a Gelert Zenith and current Go Outdoors is selling it for 199 which I will buy if my ebay bid on a used Zenith does not win it.
Do you happen to have any dimensions of the bedrooms? It might be in the manual. I would appreciate knowing if the middle bedroom is bigger than the other two.
In any case thanks for the pictures, after I pitch mine I will try to do the same.
How did you get your SIG as smooth as that. We put ours up on Sunday, and the groundsheet was pulling inbetween a couple of the poles. I admit we are totally new to this tent lark, last time i went was 20 years ago. We struggled with the 3 black dome poles, they just didn't look right.
The first (and so far only) time we put up our Zenith 8, which has the same 3 pole center. We also got a 'tight' section of groundsheet between two poles.
I'd love to know the trick to getting rid of it, too!
We bought the Sahara 6 last month in the Go Outdoors sale for £199.00. Attempted first pitch in the garden (just fitted and no more), was quite a struggle getting the main poles up and had to hire the kids to get inside and hold them. We also had a bit of pulling on our ground sheet and would love to hear from anyone that can give any tricks of the trade to solve this problem. This is out first tent with a s.i.g. so any advise is welcome.
The tent is massive and can't wait to try it out for "real". Heading off to N. Ireland at the beginning of August, had to go buy a trailer from Halford due to size of said tent.
Phoned Go Outdoors today regarding a carpet, but they are still out of stock, so just keep trying.
Well I finally bought my Gelert Zenith 8 man tent from eBay, just 1 week later I found it for 100 GBP less!

BUGGER!
Could anyone advise me on the best way to pack the damn thing back into its surprisingly small holdall? Its a hell of a size! The poles alone weigh about 30kg but they are in a separate bag.
Hope someone can advise, happy camping.
Julian

I hear you, we are just back from N. Ireland after 3 nights. Had a great time, weather a bit iffy, but you can't have it all. I must agree with you 100 percent about fitting it back in the bag. We gave up and just packed it into the trailer. We bought a footprint groundsheet before we went and must admit really saved the tent from dirt, etc. Got it from tentastic. Still need a carpet for it, but will keep looking.
Having packed it into its original bag 3 times now I can honestly say it is doable. Just remember the motto:
Air Is The ENEMY!
You've got to squeeze every little bit of air out of the tent as you fold and roll it up. It helps to have 2 or 3 people doing it obviously. Just make sure that where you can get air out you do.
