I'm looking for a weekend tent and one I can get up with myself and two little girls to help. We currently have a Montana 6 but it's just too big for me to manage and way too big for two nights. So have whittled it down to:

Vango Tigris 400 (easy up)

Outwell Southsea

Sunncamp Ventura 400

They all seem big enough to get two double airbeds in. Budget is £200 so all under that. Have seen them all, that hasnt helped either. Just need to decide really. Any thoughts?

We're going for the Tigris 600 with the reasons for choosing this over similar models from other makers:

  • Vango Lifetime Guarantee
  • Previous excellent experience of Vangos
  • Spacious without needing half a park to itself
  • Robust design that should cope with most weather
  • A lot of tent for the money.

Those are our reasons - don't know if that'll help your choice but hope you enjoy whatever you get for weekends.

We have been looking at the Outwell Minnesota for a weekend tent its a very similar design to the Montana which we have but smaller i think you and the kids would manage it very easiley at least my OH who is only 4ft 12in says she could manage it on her own (smss)! she probabley could as well she is a determined little devil

hi like you have the montana 6, but have bought the tigris 400 for quick trips and its a very good tent for the money (my pics are in the review section) Just took us ten minutes to pitch on its first "proper outing". You should also consider the new Vango Icarus 500 which is cheaper than the Tigris and has a bigger side window and more storage but not quite as sturdy but for weekends etc should be more than adequate

I was just going to suggest the Tigris 600 myself. Just as easy to put up (videos on youtube, I believe) and more spacious and has three bedrooms (or more room of you leave the front bedroom off). You can get it for a good deal, too. 199.99

Oh i'm excited as i do not know of the Outwell Southsea!

Anyways, what about an Outwell Colorado 5?

I bought one for the exact same reason. Needed to be able to pitch on own or with a little help.
