You shouldn't have trouble with either since they're both less than 5m wide (no sticky out bits to get you banned/surcharged) - length isn't an issue with campsites generally. And they're both the same length anyway.
I've got the M (4 berth) and would say that this is one of those rare tents that comfortably takes the number of people it says it does. Two of us have absolutely loads of room in ours
- How many of you are there?
- Do you need three bedrooms rather than two
- Is the extra room over an already huge tent worth another £70 or so?
- Will you be OK pitching a heavy tent?
- Is there room in the car?
I've seen the XL pitched and it's seriously huge.
Whichever, you'll have a brilliant tent!
