Hi Everyone,

Well, I got home from work yesterday evening to find out my other half has bought a second hand Base Camp Bungalow XL tent - apparently she was worried about the rain this weekend and thought our original tent wasn't big enaough...

Anyway, I was hoping that someone might have instructions for the best way pitch this tent as (being secondhand) it has didn't come with any. In case it helps, I think this tent is (or was) made by a company called Quest, but they don't seem to be around anymore. We gave it a go last night and managed to get it up, but it would be great if anyone does have real instructions.

Also, this is the first tent we have ever had which has a sewn in groundsheet. I know this might be a simple question, but do I need to lay another groundsheet out as well, or will the one on the tent do the job? I assume the tent one will be OK, but I wanted to ask rather than wake up with a wet bed (!!) on the weekend.

Thanks very much.

Cheers,
James

Hi James & welcome to the forum

As the tent has a sewn in groundsheet, you will have to fold the whole thing together at the end of your holiday, so if there's any mud or damp under the groundsheet, there is a risk of this getting onto your tent fabric. Therefore I'd advise you to get a cheap tarp and cut it to about 2" smaller than the overall size of your tent, and use this as a footprint groundsheet under the SIG.
