We used this for the first time this Easter weekend and so thought i'd share my expereince with it.

It's basically a large piece of fabric, £20.00 from ARGOS which sits over the top of your existing tent and fixes down with several guy lines.

You can have it as deep or shallow as you like by just moving it further away or closer to your tent.

We found that the fit wasn't quite right and it wasn't very sturdy so we will buy some cling-ons and extra guys for the sides, just to ensure it won't take off in a strong wind!

It rained quite alot while we were there and the canopy did leak along the seams so we will waterproof it for next time.
Other than that, it was quite good and so i would recommend it to anyone for any tent.

Thinking of getting one of these for my Coleman Evolva. However, as the Evolva is a large family dome with an 'end on' front door, will this fit given that either the canopy or the rear guys will have to go over the full 5 metre length of the tent?

Also, what are cling-ons? How are they fitted? Got a link to a picture or site where they're sold?

Thanks

Just had a look at the Evolva, mmmm, the canopy is about 4m wide so it might just be too big to start with. But the length of it can be adjusted.
not sure where to buy the cling-ons from, Dad has given me some he's had for a while but they're basically little plastic grips that hold the fabric between them and you can attach guy lines to the clips.
Argos are pretty good with returns so if you can be bothered, get one and try it out in the garden!
Good luck!

Thanks for posting pics of that William, I have bought one but not used it yet so gives me a good idea of how it will look as my canopy on my Cedar Creek is a paltry little effort! I think Valkscot posted some good tips on this including putting some neoprene on the guys to stop the fabric tearing. If you search 'Coleman Canopy' that may shed some light.
