Ok, so after my disaster over easter I am feeling a bit better and today I went and had a mooch around winfields ven though I still think it is an evil place designed to make you spend money....

Before my fridge destroyed it the gelert stratus 4 stood up to some horrible weather on the thursday night, strong winds and torrential rain. Bearing that in mind and also the fact that last year the wind was worse and tunnel tents seemed to stand up to it better I went to look at the vango icarus 500 although looking online I preferred the sungari. Winfields aren't showing it on their website but I was hoping that they were just a bit behind updating and they would actually have one in the display, no such luck unfortunately. They did have the outwell nevada M and right next to it the minnesota 6..... The nevada is an icky colour but it was so light inside with plenty of room and not too large for me to put up. I discounted the minnesota due to the steel poles and to be honest I just liked the nevada more. I would really like to be able to see the sungari on display to compare the two so has anyone been able to do that? Both tents are about the same price although the sungari is heavier and the nevada is slightly larger. The other thing that interested me was that the vango has the tension band system which is supposed to help in bad weather...... It's a breezy day here and the only tent on display that wasn't moving around in the wind was a wynnster mallard but it seemed to be the only one that was pitched properly so that isn't much help to me in knowing weather the vango system is actually any good I am leaning towards the outwell having seen it and really liking it so really the only thing that is stopping me is this TBS on the vango???? Help??
