Hi, would welcome your suggestions on the best / quickest way to put up the 2008 sun valley 6, used ours for the first time over easter and think I should be able to cut down on the 75 mins taken for the first time with the help of OH. Thanks for your help.

Tom.

Hi Tom,

We have ours up in about 20 minutes.

Spread your canvas out making sure the doors are open to get some air inside.
Peg out your back corners.
Assemble and thread your poles through the sleeves.
Then working from the back, lift and clip your first set of poles into the ring and pins and put a couple of guys on to hold it vertical, then work your way to the front.
When you have all the poles done pull it out till its straight and taut and then guy the front.
Then you can go round pegging out the bottom and putting the rest of the guys on.

we do ours differently and it only ever takes 20 mins too. Find a way that suits you and then practice till it flys up.
spread canvas out and open doors.
insert all poles through sleeves then insert all the ring and pins whilst the poles are lying on the ground.
then lay all the poles together in a bundle and one person on either side lift all the poles up together into a standing position.
Whilst one person holds the upright poles steady the other person pegs out the central front guy rope at the top of the canopy.
Then one person either side of the poles, 'walk' the tent backwards opening the gap up between poles as you go.
then close doors, clip sides onto poles, insert side poles and guy the whole lot out.
job done, 20 mins, have a can of beer!
Been doing it that way since april 2005. have just replaced old sunvalley with new 2008 version. It's always been a great tent and is even better for now having the front canopy.
Enjoy
Claud

Nice one, thanks for that, the laying out we do but have been bending all the poles into place and then trying to lift one at a time so will try these two new ways.

Tom.

I have this tent and another 2 almost identical. 20 minute job here too and have 2 mallets so pegging down is double quick.
I peg back corners down, insert all poles with tent flat on ground ,lying on top of each other. When all done, lift all poles together , walk all poles forward, peg front guyline , close doors , adjust sides and peg out .

I used to do it the hard way, pegging all 4 corners down , inserting poles, and then bending one at a time into place.
still only took 20 mins but it was more of a struggle with getting ring and pins in with poles standing upright.
