Hey,

We are 2 adults and 2 children (5 and 2) and are looking for a new tent. We are currently camping in a 30 year old tent which is lovely and sound but very large, bulky and heavy - it has a seperate ground sheet and leaves little room in the car for anything else!.

I am looking for a tent with at least 2 bedrooms, large living space and I would prefer a sewn in ground sheet. I would really love a tent which I can rely on especially if we go late or early season camping and one where we can set out our stuff with enough room for the kids to play if the weather takes a turn!

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

JP

If you let people know what you budget is then I am sure that you will get more replies.

You could pay £500+ on the Idaho XL, or alternatively try the Gelert Lokon Vario 6, which I have for a family of 4 + dog. Smaller packsize, price and huge, but no sewn in groundsheet. Personally I have been in some huge winds in it and was amazed to find it stood up to it.

Kyham Ontario 8 for us!!
2009 model has 2 large 4 berth bedrooms which can be divided by a curtain. Previous years had 3 seperate bedroom pods - 4+2+2

We paid £189 for ours and got the footprint groundsheet thrown in for free.

Acres of space, easy to pitch, standing height, SIG and you can buy extras such as sun porch and carpet to make it a real home from home!
