I'm really disappointed with my new tent bought on ebay from Nordik Camping.  We bought it in Feb and checked it was ok but didn't use till last week.  What a disapointment, there is loads of things wrong with it. Damaged seams, hooks falling off, an area of about two feet covered with tiny pin prick size holes to name but a few.  I've emailed the seller but as yet no reply! I don't think I have any comeback as I've already left feedback when I got the tent in Feb.  Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks Jean

Hi just wondering if you got this sorted. I am contemplating buying a Nordik tent which is for sale on ebay. Can you tell me which tent it was you bought.

Many thanks for your time

Steve

Just wondered if you had resolved the problems with your tent? I thought I would bump it back up to the top of the list. Has anyone else bought one of these tents? Can anyone else give any reviews?

Thanks

Do not know what model had the problem.  I brought the Nordikcamping 43 kilo family tent a year ago for £350 from the Ebay shop Nordikcamping.  The tent is huge hence the weight (4 Season)  and has performed really well in some really bad weather.  The tent is supplied with really thick guy ropes and mounting points.  Had a steel pole that got damaged in a storm.  Had no problem getting a replacement .

Advice I would give is make sure you build any tent and check it before your holiday to make sure all the parts are there.  Carefully check the seams to make sure the sealing tape is covering all of the sewing machine holes.  Pay particular attention to the corners.

Do not go camping without a good seam sealant.  It seals minor holes (1mm etc) in seconds and can stop your holiday being ruined.  Its the equivelant of a puncture repair kit to a cycling holiday.  A tent i brought was supplied with a repair kit.  Make sure you have some form of repair kit and you know how to use it.

Finally make sure the tent is up to the weather that can be expected in the area your are proposing to go camping.  Big family tents are like wind sales and need some form of wind break.  I love camping in holland because the camp sites are well sheltered and often surrounded by good facilities.  If your looking at camping in the North West of scotland, Wales or Cornwell or any seaside areas you are going to have a serious risk of gale force winds.  If you are camping in these areas you will need a 4 season tent and a wind break or a tent with a 3ft head height.  If the tent is advertised in the category General camping it needs to be used in sheltered areas.
