Does anyone have one of the new extensions with the added door and if so how useful is it having this?

I can't decide between two tents including the Orchy and the usability of this extension is going to sway my decision.  Is it much better than having a extension which doesn't have a door or does it not make much difference?

Sorry if the answer is obvious but I haven't been camping before.

Hi Sharon, we don`t have the extension with the door, we have the large sun canopy. It is a great added space. I don`t see the need for the door, personally, and wouldn`t pay the extra. It really depends on what you want to use it for.

We don`t cook in ours,as I have a `thing` about cooking in tents,  but we have friends who do and its perfectly adequate for that, we use it to store wet waterproofs and wetsuits when its wet outside. Its also terrific for stopping the rain coming in the front door when your going in and out of the tent in bad weather, esp with a six year old that doesn`t zip the door after her!!

If you want it for an extra living space then I would think the door would be useful

Thanks Jo, if you didn't have a door is it usual for campers to leave their belongings there i.e. cooking equipment etc. and for this to be safe?

thanks, what colour Orchy have you got?

I would get the green and was just wondering how light it was inside, I've only seen the new purple coloour (Zinfandel) in the 500 model and it's so dark inside.
