There's a video on You tube of a bloke setting one up on his own, so it can be done but personally i would think it would be too difficult . We sometimes struggle with both of us, especially if it's a bit breezy
Having just watched that video I would say go for it...as long as its not windy! But if its anything like putting up ours then I would peg one end first ,then add poles and gather the sections together, then stand it up section by section towards the un- pegged end. Might be easier than wrestling poles into an upright sagging canvas iyswim!
The other thing is if I ever see someone one site who is obviously alone and struggling I will offer my help...but maybe thats because I love putting up tents lol..some nice person might give you a hand.

I couldn't do ours on my own but Im a total weakling. I think oh could do it though I think the knack is to put the front poles in their ring & pins before lifting, then peg down the guy of one side of the front and go round and raise and do the other - my only concern is the stress the poles are under doing it this way but others have managed.

When we arrived on site for the first time we were monty 6 owners I challenged my hubby to get the tent up in under 10 mins just like in the you tube video. One and a half hours later the two us us with help from our daughter finally managed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm a determined lass and nothing defeats me but erecting the monty 6 solo is something I could never imagine doing, ever. Good luck, you'll need it lol!
Just a thought, but what do you guys think of the way the guy from yeomans on you tube pulls the tent up by the fabric/guy lines? Surely you're on a hiding to disaster as I can't imagine these points are designed to take this kind of stress.
------------- If you have a problem stressing you, sort it. If you can't, there's no point worrying about it coz it won't make a blind bit of difference!!!! Jules

Phew... well... the only thing I can do is take it to my parents garden and set it up there today... I'll report back later tonight and let you know how I got on!!!
I tried it with our Montana and its impossible if there's any kind of wind, I also dont think its adviseable as you could damage a pole or worse still, rip the fabric.
We bought the Monty specifically because you can put it up single handed, but agree with Slinger you don't want any wind whilst errecting the end poles.
