Not many reviews about them and looking on the net they seem to be sturdy and well made with good hh and a lifetime guarantee. The Hawk 3 looks a super tent for the money with bags of room.
Has anyone got an Aztec tent and if so what kind of reputation do they have?

We have an Aztec Terreno 4 vis a vis style.

Not our favourite tent (we now have 6!)design wise but it has withstood some pretty appalling weather and did the job adequately.

we have an aztec cantera 12 and it is great love it to bits (we have gone to the dark side now though but wont part with it ) we have had some damn awful weather and it withstood the lot

I know it's a different sort of tent - but I've got an Aztec utility tent, and its great! Its stood up to some very strong windy gusts in an open area without any trouble, and it hasn't leaked at all.

I don't have any experience of any other Aztec tents though. Hope you find what you're looking for.

Thanks for replies. Much appreciated. Sounds to me as if they are very strong and sturdy and able to withstand nasty weather which is just what I am looking for.

I have a Hawk 3 and love it!

Only had it one season but so far it's survived strong wind & rain, sleeps 2 plus dog comfortably and you can stand up in it. It's been a great 'return to camping' tent. A bit awkward to put up first time, but once done you feel it'll stand up to anything!

Look out for the best deal - got mine from Simply Outdoors a year ago - cheaper than anywhere else.

We have a Cantera 9 and it is the best tent we have! The build quality is excellent. Ous sig even stood up to three or four inches of water (never pitch in a dip) and was like a water bed, if you stood at one end of the tent a seat at the other end lifted, but not a drop of water leaked through. Highly recommended.

Cheers. Good responses, help me a lot. Can the Hawk 3 be erected solo? It's a Tunnel so why would it be awkward to erect Flea63?. Please tell. I have to erect all my tents on my own and the last thing I want to do is to be struggling to erect a tent. The Hawk 3 is the one I am interested in very much.

Maybe just us 2 weak girls!! It did get easier once we'd got the knack - took a fair amount of strength to bend the poles in order to get the pins in & I don't think I could do it on my own, but I guess a strong man wouldn't have any problems! Sorry, I can't compare with ease of erecting other tents as haven't put any others up recently.

Oh that's just what I didn't want to hear - strength to bend the poles! Thanks for reply it's very much appreciated. My Albany 400 takes no strength at all to erect and fix the ring and pin etc. That's why I love it as it's so easy to erect. As you say it does get easier, maybe the fact that the poles are steel makes a difference to bending them and getting them in correctly.I'm still interested but it would be good to have another view from someone who has the Hawk 3 and see what they think.
