We're after a weekender tent and are trying to decide what would be best?
We need something quick and easy to pitch and take down and small enough it will go in our garden. The icarus looks great and was recommended by the guy at our local camp shop and the gelert one is on offer so only £85 - but putting it away is scarying me a bit!
Is there any other great weekenders around you would recommend? I really want it to have SIG and a living area and hubby would like it to be tall enough to stand in.
Thanks
Sam

I have an Icarus 500. It is brilliant. Easy to pitch, lots of room and light and airy with a SIG and optional canopy. Vango Tension Band system and very comfortable. Just over £110 on a good deal or price match.I feel secure in Vango tents and this one is lovely. looked at the Gelert 5, so many problems with folk trying to get it away comfortably so it's Icarus 500 every time for me, especially as I am now the proud owner of one.
I've just had my review published of first experience with a Twister 5.
Absolutely made up with it. Don't know about the Icarus but had experience with our friends' Venture 500 and found it stood up to wind badly. The four poles of the Twister criss-cross to form a very sturdy geodisic setup - very good at resisting wind.
With two of you the Twister wouldn't be a problem packing away. But take a couple of awning poles with you as the Twister is short on windows but does have bug screens on the doors.

Just bought an icarus 500. On our first pitch it took us 25 mins, but i expect second time round this will be much quicker. Appears very stable and packing away was easy. Very pleased.
Just got a Vango Icarus + foot print and carpet for £189, cant coment on the twister but really impressed with the Icarus and apparently they are flying off the shelves lots of places are either out of stock or selling replenished stock rapidly.

That really please me! Tents have been getting bigger and bigger, and more and more complex and expensive over the last two or three years - so its great to see that there is still a big demand for a simple, decent tent for people who just want to go camping.
