I've narrowed my tent search down to either the Cabanon Guadeloupe or the Cabanon Barbados.
As there is only the two of us, in theory the Guadeloupe should fit our needs just fine, however after a quick trial run with two chairs and a table in the display model I'm concerned it may be a bit cramped in the living area, especially in wet weather when there are issues with touching the canvas.
Comparing the two tents it seems the Barbados gives a slightly bigger living area, my question is do you think the living area of the Barbados will be big enough to comfortably fit two chairs and a table in?? I did manage to fit everything into the Guadeloupe however it was a bit tricky to try and leave the tent with the table and chairs in place, there really wasn't much spare space!
I don't mind paying the extra for the Barbados if the living area allows us to move around with the table and chairs in place, however if there's not much in it I think I'm better off saving some money and getting the Guardeloupe.
Any help you could offer me on the subject would be much appreciated.
Best regards,
Chris

Hi Chris, I think the Guadeloupe will be to small for 2 but dont have any experience of the Barbados so cannot comment. Does the Barbados have an inner bedroom which would be a plus for warmth if you camping in cooler weather.
We used our Guadeloupe last weekend for the first time, and found it big enough for the two of us and small dog. Depends how big your table and chairs are, I suppose. We've got the folding camping chairs and one of those slatted fold up tables. We were fine.
We tend to think of the Guadeloupe as a one room tent and whilst we do use the bedroom area as a bedroom, we never bother closing the dividing curtain (it would mess up our fairy lights for a start!). We find that this increases the overall usable space, it certainly increases the perception of space!
I have never seen a Barbados in the flesh, but from the diagrams online it appears that most of the extra space is in the sleeping area, just 45cm difference in the width of the living area, plus having a bedroom inner means that the living space can't be extended into the bedroom.
Remember that as good as the Guadeloupe and Barbados are, there are lots of options when it comes to pyramid style tents - some of the big dutch camping retailers have lots of options at very attractive prices! I'll try to post some links later but in the meantime have a look at this thread for more info!

Check out Obelink for a selection of dutch pyramids at very reasonable prices! It's all in Dutch but they do ship to the UK and if you need any questions answering, there are a few dutch members on here whou will be glad to help! From what i've heard the quality of these tents is very good!
If you are adventurous you might also want to consider Marktplaats which is a bit like a dutch version of eBay. Again, there are a few people on here who have had good experiences buying this way!

We have the Cabanon Barbados and find it ideal for the two of us. We have just bought a kitchen tent to give us extra room for cooking when the weather is bad. If you do a search on Cabanon Barbados on here, I think there are some photo's of the inside of our tent we put a few months ago. You would definately have room in the living area for two folding chairs and small table. I must admit, I think the inner tent in the Barbados makes it feel cosy, especially with all the bad weather we had last year.
I have also been checking out the Hypercamp pyramid tents on Obelink as we saw one last year whilst on holiday and they look a super tent - the one we saw certainly stood up to the heavy rain and gale force winds we had (in Cornwall of all places in the middle of July).
Thanks for the info on the Barbados Kaz, I feel more reassured now! I'll make sure I search out those photos.
Lentrott, those links are very interesting. As an owner of both a Cabanon and a De Waard, is there really that much of a quality difference between the two to justify the additional outlay?? The quality of the Cabanons seems pretty high to me, however I have never seen a De Waard and am curious as to why they have such a good reputation and hence such a high value!
Any one who has ever seen a Cabanon pyramid will know how good the quality is, and before seeing a De Waard in the flesh I struggled to see how there could be a huge jump in quality...but believe me, there is!
Even when the tent isn't pitched you can clearly see the workmanship which goes into them, the way that each of the 17 separate panels of canvas come together at the top, the way that the inner tent is constructed to follow the 'lines' of the outer so it looks just as beautiful from the inside (not to mention the built in woolly tartan carpet!).
It's difficult to describe just how incredible the quality of DW's is, but when you see one you will know! They are also pretty much bomb proof!
