Hi Everyone

After a while of lurking I have finally decided to take the plunge and post.  My wife has just booked us (my wife, myself and our 13 month old son) 4 days in Cornwall so I thought I had better buy a tent.

I have been looking at a Coleman Riverside 6 and just wondered if anybody had any experience of this tent, good/bad/indifferent?

Thanks in advance!

What is it that draws you to the Riverside? I ask so more specific advice can be given . Per se there is nothing to suggest it is a bad tent , and most of the manufacturers make something similar . I guess you are looking for something with a decent living area and an option of a large bedroom so you can all be together whilst your son is young . The Vango Orchy 500 or 600 , would appear to be a popular choice on this forum . The Coleman Waterfall might be another consideration . Hope you can give a little more feedback. And finally welcome !!!

Thanks for the replies

The Riverside seemed to offer a good size living area and adaptable bedroom, together with a decent price but I am open to suggestions.  My wife also wants a SIG which I think the Riverside has?

Apologies if I am little vague here but our current tent is a small Khyam I used to chuck on the back of the motorbike so I am just getting to grips with all the different options and lay-outs!

I still need to make a decision so thanks for the alternatives; I'll take a look at those too

I'm also guessing that something that takes up a little boot space would be advantageous , as with toddlers you have all the extras to transport. You could look at the Vango Tigris , this years popular tunnel tent , in three different sizes . Outwell are doing a special of their Nevada , the Nevada 4 , which has a children's bedroom inner. I'm making suggestions at a similar budget to the Coleman.

Thanks for all the advice - I'm now the proud owner of a Vango Tigris 600.

Pitched it on Saturday in the garden without too much difficulty and we're really pleased with it - hopefully it'll be that easy to pitch on-site.
