Hello all. I am new hear as you can tell so please be gentle with me.

We do not camp lots, but bought a new tent last year and got an ultrafit chester.

Just got back from it's first proper use (I had put it up in the garden when it arrived, I am not a complete muppet) and although it was waterproof the zips are rubbish. one is completely stuffed after only 4 nights.

Two things, has anyone else used one of these and had similar problems and is it worth repairing the zip (well replacing really) or is it going to be more trouble than it is worth?

Thanks for any advice

we had an ultrafit brighton (12 man)

never again

crock of   !!

cheap nasty tent - ours leaked through the main seams

if you go in a decent tent you can really tell the difference!

i would stay clear of them myself

but then i suppose, like us - its too late now!

Hi steve and welcome. the bad news is its not a great tent.
My boys bought an ultrafit a few years back. They are cheap and cheerful. poor quality really, but it did last them a good many trips, until it disintegrated last year. They actually knew this when they bought it, it was £100 for a 12 man tent, that 6 of them chipped in together to buy for a weekend away , they all agreed that if it lasted them 1 weekend they'd have had their moneys worth and anything over that was a bonus .

It should be down to the retailer to refund or replace this tent , if zips broken after using it once . assuming its under a 12month garuntee. I would try to get a refund and buy a better quality tent if possible.
the cost of repairing a zip will probably not be cost effective.
