thinking of buying the 500, what do you think of them so far?

Saw one for £129 in the Towsure website thought it was a good price for a 5 berth Vango Tent thinking about buying it any suggestions please.

Keep toying with obtaining one but as of yet havent got one. Idealy id prefer the 400 as the 500 is a bit big for my idea of a weekend tent.

Yes, we've got one it's our weekender, we use it with the large canopy and we find it great for a weekender (for 2 of us) but not enough room for any longer than a couple of nights.

Jo, are you using the old large Vango canopy with yours? I mean not the latest 2009 ones. I already have the older Large canopy for my Vango Albany 400 and it would be great if it would fit on the Icarus. Haven't had chance to try it on the Icarus yet, it's always raining like the clappers here.Bold

Ours arrived on Wednesday, put it up on Thursday...now totally peeved that we're having to wait till June before we can get away and use it
It wasn't my first choice of tent to be honest, I'd have prefered a twin room one but OH saw it in Go Outdoors and I don't think she would have settled for anything else. Added to that we couldn't find a decent twin room tent for the same price. After putting it up (an absolute doddle, btw) I'm really looking forward to using all the living space

Mantrachant, i'll be honest i'm not really sure. We bought the tent as a package with the canopy,the footprint and carpet for £199 from Great Outdoors just before the last bank holiday so it's only about 4 weeks ago. I don't think it's a 2009 version as the tags on it had a competition dated 2007, so i think they are probably just trying to get rid of the older ones!!! Still great tent & extras for £199 we were more than happy.

I have a feeling it will fit.
What I have to do is re-pitch the Icarus and try it with the large vango canopy.
I'll have a go because I aml sure it wiol be useful information for some.
