are you sure that the kids bedroom wouldn't fit in an earlier version? The montana was introduced in 2005 when the side porch was just a little canopy over the side door, and the bedrooms were two seperate rooms. In 2006 they changed the canopy to a full blown enclosed porch and the now common universal inner where the two rooms are joined together and you can unzip the middle wall or rempove half the room to make space for a kids room. Since then I don't think that there have been any other major changes. As long as you have the universal inner (2006 model onwards) I can't see any reason why the kids bedroom wouldn't fit. The reason that the montana is one of outwell's most successful tents is that they got it right first time and they have rarely had to make any major changes to it's design.
Chaeck out the bedroom pod. If it is all in one you know it is 2006 onwards.
From 2007 they introduced the little velcro straps which secure the rolled up guy ropes,
And finally from 2008 they added a clip on cpompass and thermometre.
Hope that is of help in indentifying the year.
Claud
It says on the Outwell website from 2008 onwards. Icould not undewrstand the difference myself. I'll have a look for the compass & thermometre & that should tell me if it's 2008 onwards.
By the way - do you have a carpet for the Outwell tent, if so how do you clean it? Ours smells of wet dog!!!
This thread explains that it will fit with a bit of imagination. The toggles to attach the kids room were not lining up correctly with fixing loops on the earlier models, but an extra bit of elastic or string or a cable tie could be added to fix it in place.

Eeeuuuwwww...wet dog, gross.
i have laid my carpet out on the lawn before when it gets really nasty and soaked it with a mild soapy warm solution made up of washing powder in a bucket. I brushed the soapy solution into the nap using a soft floor then i just hosed it down with cold water and hung it over the washing line to dry. Chaeck your line can take it, it was pretty heavy when soaking wet, but it dried very quickly on a sunny day. The rest of the time I just spot clean it with baby wipes and then hoover it in the front room by just laying it out on the floor after evry camping trip.
Really glad you got the Montana 6 tent you went to look at. Have you seen this thread - looks like the original Kevin you had dealings with over the Bear Lake 6 is not all he seemed!!!!
We are still awaiting the refund for the Bear Lake 6. The man who sold it to us was also from Newbould On Stour - his name is not Kevin Crellin, but Kevin Jones
He called me this morning to advise that he had input our account number incorrectly online & has now resent it. Working for a bank i know the funds should be in our account by Thursday at the very latest. If it isn't then we'll have to take the next step to getting our money back - my husband is in the police so we'll have to track back via sort code, account number, mobile number, address etc.
Keeping my fingers crossed, but feeling a little bit sick now i've seen this!
oh no - sorry Rebecca thought you had already managed to get your money
Looks like you are in a good position to sort it out so hopefully things will work out ok.
There are some horrible people around. I think a warning needs to be put on the wanted ads page so nobody else gets caught out by him. Sounds like it must be the same person - bit of a coincedence if not!!!
How is your Montana 6 have you managed to pitch it yet? You got a great bargain there.
Not sure how you can get rid of the wet dog smell. Do you think you could use a vax on it? if someone held it down at the corners while you did it. Not sure if this would affect the coating - are they waterproofed? Hope you find a solution.
Let us know if you sort the Kevin situation out might help others in the same position
No we haven't had chance to pitch it yet - our garden isn't big enough!!! We've watched a clip on Youtube where a man pitches it in about 8 minutes (i doubt we'll be as quick).
Have vacuumed the carpet & have found a recipe for odour neutraliser online, so have made it up to spray on when the weather gets better.
I've had a call from Kevin reassuring our money is on the way - it should be in our account by Thursday. He is very concerned about the other threads posted on here & it has to be said, we have had excellent communication from him throughout the whole experience & i am optimistic that we will get the money back from him.
