I should do shouldn't I? I guess because of my son Colby's illness the past few years has stopped us going anywhere so this year I am determined to no longer let thing's stand in their way of having some fun17

This is very interesting to read as the past month or so my son has been given anti-b and then again a different one a week or so later, but all this time I am thinking it is Asthma. I shall ring Asthma UK I think!

On that note-We still intend to take our son camping and are actually going tomorrow for 4 day's, will have an inhaler, shall just watch him and take it from there, so I think it's worth you and your wife atleast trying and you may find it's still possible to do with her asthma, you never know until you try<IMG alt=17 src="https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/forum_images/smiley1.gif" align=absMiddle>

sorry about the last post,.. not sure what happened!

Yes, there is no need to worry about asthma when camping and you're doing absolutely the right thing taking precautions. It all depends on the triggers for asthma and the type of person you are. In our case, looking after a two and four year old while one of us unwell, any problem can seem daunting and with anxiety being one of those triggers, our own precaution is simply to not go.

When the kids are a couple of years older, things will, look very different, I'm sure.

You will get very sound advice from Asthma UK, they are an excellent support group. Enjoy the hols and best wishes,

Steve

Sorry to get back to the beginning of this thread, are there any more Trout Lake owners out there? Just come back from a wet and windy visit to Cambridge where an appreciative monty 6 (+ ext) owner commented on how warm and quiet it was sitting under the porch of our lake given the conditions.

We were rained on quite heavily (and constantly) a couple of times and I didn't get a sense of dampness in the Trout Lake. Would running a "blue cat" or like heater in the tent help?

We now have another member of the TL Club 17

Well nearly, I expect mine to be delivered next Tuesday.

Stevland was off away on his jollies this week-end so being impaitent I started looking around. Bagged a brand new '09 TL from Somerset Camping for the billy bargain price of £399.

Check this out:  http://www.somersetcamping.co.uk/products/outwell-trout-lake-4-poly-cotton-touring-tent-new-low-price/92/

They told me that mine was the last one, but then they would wouldn't they? So looks like I'm no in the market for some cooking/sleeping kit. Hope to get out as soon as next week-end....wooo hoo!

Hi Steve,

i can understand your caution - but if you don't desperately need the money,it may be worth hanging on to the tent and see how your wife gets on.With good asthma management she might be able to try the odd short break if and when we get any dry and or not too humid days

all the best to you both

Pete

That's very sound thinking and thanks for your kind words Pete. :) I still have the tent for now and all adverts have been pulled.

Best wishes,
Steve
