Hi, I'm new to this camping lark (since childhood anyway). I've been researching tents for the last couple of weeks and have finally come to the decision that either the Vango Amazon 600 or the Royal Bordeaux 6 would do, but I'm leaning towards the Royal because of the extra storage room.
We saw them both up yesterday at a local camping shop, and got some interesting feedvack on the SG vs ZG debate, from the guy who had to zip in the groundsheet on the ZG in very hot weather, and nearly expired! (Can't imagine it would be fun in the rain either...) So I'm thinking primarily about the SG version.
My question is, do I need a footprint groundsheet as well? And if so, can anyone recommend one, as I can't find that Royal make one themselves.
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
Hi, just a quick question, where did you see both tents erected, as I have recommended this tent to others, having bought one myself and I am sure that some folks would like to see them together to compare?
I've found them in a couple of places. There's a camping exhibition in Codicote, Herts until 14th June which has the Royal Bordeaux 6 ZG, and the 6 XL ZG, and the Vango Amazon 600 and 800. The details are on the Events Listings page on this site.
Also, PG Camping in Romford has the Amazon 600, and the Bordeaux 6 XL ZG.
Incidentally, i've now discovered Royal do have a footprint for the Bordeaux, but I can't find anyone who has it in stock. If anyone knows where I can get one....?
