I am off to the Peak District in June (hopefully) for my first camping trip. I need a 2-3 man tent and have come across the Vango Beta 250. Its cheap, got good reviews and has a big porch. However the Vango Omega 250 has better waterproofing and alloy poles, but it nearly double the price. But I could go for that little extra space and buy the Beta 350 as its priced between the other two.
Any advice on which direction I should go in would be appreciated. Do any other tents match these criteria: 2-3 man, large porch, less than 100 pounds, well known brand, SIG for the bedroom, not single skin, weight not an issue. Are alloy poles worth spending a lot more for? Any comments would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I've seen the Omega 250 on display recently (at Taunton Leisure), and I was very impressed with the stability, as it was a very windy day. I only wish I'd seen it before I bought my Vango Equinox, as there really is very little difference between the two tents, and the Equinox is much more expensive. In my opinion, the Omega is very good value for money, and I like the extra stability of the metal poles.
You could take an even cheaper option, and buy my used for one night Beta 350 in as new condition. You can see my reason for selling it in the tent review I posted regarding it.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
