Just wondering if anyone has seen any good deals on the above tent ? after many hours reading on here I think I have narrowed it down to the vango (was also looking at the Outwell Nevada M or the Khyam Ontario 8).

The cheapest price I have found is £239 from outdoorworlddirect which seems the best price for the tent alone. I would also be interested in the footprint groundsheet and carpet so was wondering if anyone had seen any good deals on the package (or knew anywhere that would be willing to do a package deal).

Also does anyone know any stores in or around the York area which would have the tent on display ? I would prefer to buy in person if possible but will go with the internet stores depending on price.

Bargain!! They are actually a little cheaper for the carpet and footprint groundsheet than outdoorworld but charge £5 delivery so end up the same, another option to consider though.....

I rang a few of our local camping stores and none do it for less than £279.99 rrp and most don't carry it in stock so it looks like the internet option is going to end up winning so far.

The only promising option was our local blacks store who do not carry it in stock but were sure they could order it for us and beat or match the internet price (especially once I mentioned the carpet and groundsheet). Calling back later today apparently....

I've been looking around for the Vango Tigris and the best i can find online is £239 also. I did find one that did it for £235 but just been and looked and it doesn't appear on their site at all now.

I need to phone one the local stockists to see if they have it to buy in person.

I bought my tent recently on the internet and had no problems what so ever. I had seen the tent in the flesh at a local shop, but the internet price was alot less, about £30 I think. The postage was free as well, and it took only 2 days. It came from Taunton Leisure, who have good feedback from others on this site, but I don't know if they have the tent you are after. Allweathers in Essex is another good place to buy using the internet.

Taunton Leisure did have the Tigris 800 when I bought my 600. Really good service for me too. I'm sure I ordered it on Sunday morning and got it Monday!

Cheers for the suggestions, I rang Taunton Leisure but they are currently out of stock of the 800, looks a good site for future bits though.

Rang a few more local stores and no luck in seeing one on display, most don't carry the tent and would need to special order it.

Not the tigris, but there is a good package deal on the vango oregon 800 £289 here

The oregon is similar to tigris, and package includes carpet, footprint and sun canopy.

I had a brilliant deal from camping International. Tigris 800 tent, footprint and carpet for £269 with free p&p and it arrived in two days.  I just had a look to see if the deal was still on but I'm sorry to say it's not.  I just thought I'd have a little gloat though! [;)]

They are selling the tigris 800 for £445 on its own at the moment.

Thanks for the input everyone,

Sam - I did see the Yeomans shows but the next one at our local spot is not until the middle of July so a little late (would like to get a weekend or two away before then). I would have liked to have seen the tent in the flesh before ordering it but I've seen plenty of pictures of it and have a pretty good idea what to expect. We were originally looking at the 600 but decided we might as well have the extra space for the relatively small difference in price.

Beefysmum - I did look at the Oregon but decided against it as it has a lower HH rating for the flysheet, good price for the package though, especially with the sun canopy...

Mudmonster - That's the kind of deal I'm after ! Pity they are all gone a that price though, it's at least £50 cheaper for the lot than the best prices I've seen so far. I'd be happy to get the lot for £300 but it looks like I'll be just going over.

Any last minute comments to put me off the tigris ? Anything else I should have looked at other than the outwell's or Khyam's ?

Got my wilkinson's UFO lights tonight and after spending five minutes trimming the plastic to make my AA rechargables fit they are pretty good. Just need some sleeping bags for the kids (7 and 4) and some airbeds then we've got the basic kit sorted I think.
