We were impressed with the Vermont XL tent today. However I think the model we saw on display was an older model. It didn't look like the one on Outwell website.

The floor plan for the 2009 has 3 bedroom, two divided by a dotted line (zip?) and the other one separate? The one I saw on display had all bedroom divided by a zip.

If you have a 2009 model, can you confirm how the bedrooms are divided, please.

Thanks,

P

As you can see from the Outwell site the latest Vemont XL has two separate bedrooms.A 5 berth inner with a a zip open divider and a seperate 2 berth inner.
You can always tell with Outwell tents if it shows a dotted line then it is a zip open inner,if two seperate lines with a slight gap between, then the inners are seperate of each other.

Outwell

The Vermont L is one big 6 berth inner with a zip open curtain.Could you have got the two mixed up.

Thanks for that, that what I understood. However the one I saw today was definitely a Vermont XL, it had 3 bedrooms, the inner between bedroom 1 and 2 was zippable but rolled up from the bottom to be tagged at the top. Between bedrooms 2 and 3 was a D shaped zip. I am thinking this may be an older model and was hoping someone who owns a Vermont XL would be able to confirm for me.

Thanks again,

P

Hi!

We have the Vermont XL 2009 model.

Between the middle and LHS bedroom there is are D shaped zips as you say. The divider inside the bedrooms is just a thin piece of material that is not fixed to the floor - it is very easy to get from one room to the other y ducking under this!

The bedroom on the right is self contained in that it is completely zipped from the middle bedroom however it is not a completely separate inner that you can remove from the tent. It is fixed to the middle inner at the floor. We have a kids' room in place of that inner - this is a separate inner that is fixed in place but the original bedroom has to be rolled up and secured between the two rooms. Seemed a bit strange we thought.

However we think that the vermont xl is a fab tent!

Hope you can make sense of all this!

Hi Jane,

Thanks for your response, can the bedroom on the right be unzippedd so that it joins the other two bedrooms to be one big bedroom? This is our preference and the illustration above (sunvalleysue) shows it as a completely separate room.

Thanks,

P

Hello again!

Yes - I think you can make it into one big room. We had the kid's room up so didn't play around with all the zips but I'm pretty sure there was a zip on that shared wall.

That diagram above is definitely misleading. The bedroom on the right is not a completely separate room but has a shared wall with the middle room.
