Have decided we really want a cotton tent and have saved enough, was going to wait to end season sales but our previous tent has now had it...narrowed choice to Outwell Bear lake 4, or Nomad Makonde....which one should we go for, there are 3 of us 2 adults (1, 6'1) and a small child don't want anything too big! any advice ???
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
Hi, We had some friends who had a very similar decision to make and ended up with the bear lake, as the canopy was included. With the Makonde they would have had to buy it seperate...Also, I think the groundsheet is also a seperate purchase for the nomad......I may be wrong
We have a Nomad Masai 6 tent purchased from the Outdoor show when they first came out. We only use one bedroom for 4 of us, the bedroom is really roomy. We were looking for a tent to match the old Vango Force 10's for standing up to the weather but needed the extra room for a family. We have been really impressed with the Nomad on all counts. It is quick and easy to put up in all weather (including high winds). It has stood up to gale force winds and last years constant rain without any problems at all. They seem to be really well thought out with design features such as flaps over the zips, window curtains that close on the inside, storage pockets within the inner tent. The only problem with our tent is, because of the early design, it has huge vents either end which mean that it is difficult to keep warm in the main tent part (though I have to say, we have been plenty warm enough in the sleeping area). The later designs don't seem to have vents. I would definitely go for another Nomad and am considering a Masai 4 to use as a smaller weekend tent.
