Just after a bit of advice really.  We have put this tent up 3 or 4 times now and each time the first pin goes in fine, but the second is a sttruggle.  Does anyone else have this trouble?  Any advice would be welcome!

There has to be the tension, thats what holds the tent up, if it wasn't hard to get in, it would come out easily too and the tent wouldn't stay up.

It is easier to get the pins in , if you do all the poles first, lying them on the ground, before pegging out the corners. this way you have more flex with the fabric. lay all pinned poles on top of each other,
then peg out back corners, Open front end door to let air in and it helps you lift the tent.lift all poles up together and walk them forwards. peg out front guylines to hold the tent up , close the doors, then do the rest of the guys and flysheet pegging points.

I do not have this tent ,but I assume you are refering to ring and pin fixing for the poles? Usually they are attached to tension straps which you should slacken off so to make inserting the pin easier , then you tighten to secure.

we have this tent and this is how we pitch,

we peg the four corners loosely (only if windy)then put all the poles through. We then start at one end and work up. We don't have a problem with the ring and pin. Just check that none of the material is snagging on the poles because this would make the material tighter. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all of your suggestions, we have tried doing it with the poles lying on the floor and then opening the door.  This did seem the easiest way so at least we aren't missing anything!

Hi, I am a new camper, with a new Horizon 8. We found it was easier to start at the back and raise each poles seperatly and peg into place before moving onto the next poles. It was very helpful that they were colour coded. I must admit, this was our 1st trip with teenagers and the weather was fantastic, so we suffered no winds...I am yet due to erect it in the wind- perhaps my advice may not be so useful!
