It's very frustating to be honest, I thought they had got this tent spot.
The Bear Lake 6 is a great tent also, but again we were unlucky to end up with one of the tents from a faulty batch (this was a couple of years ago now). There was no problems getting a refund as the supplier had several he needed to return, but it caused us a lot of anxious moments trying to get the door shut on holiday.

Another one with the same problem here. Our mesh door on the side with the porch is splitting as well. OH thought that it was the pole length incorrect but now not so sure. Problem is, we bought ours at the NEC show in 2008 so well over 2 tears old. Pity that we didnt think about this a little more, but we have only used it twice. Hopefully Go Outdoors will be nice to us. Will call them and post how we get on.
Certainly tried the loose strap, even took the porch pole out altogether. We could still see the tension pulling across the mesh inner door, especially in the top right corner.

Quote: Hello, Huss, and welcome to the forum. Two years a member and this is your first post!! Please, everyone, do submit a review on this tent; partly to warn others and partly to further prod Outwell to do something about it - companies hate bad press.
I had to complete an Outwell survey to be entered into a prize draw (leaflet inside the tent bag when we bought it). So in the comments section at the end of the survey, I did actually include a link to the UKCampsite review section and said it would tell them more than I ever could in 50 words!
Have any of you Nevada owners tried the cable tie solution that works with the Minnesota? Or is it a non-starter because of the uprights being fibreglass?
What's the cable tie solution? My OH loves cable ties in a slightly disturbing way - any excuse to use either cable ties or duct tape and he is in heaven. He bought about 500 of ebay the other week which are still sat in the flipping lounge much to my annoyance
Oh my god that sounds really dodgy, I mean it in a completely innocent way!!!! He likes fixing stuff OK!

I was beginning to wonder where that post was going, Amy!
I use cable ties on the black brackets/ferules that the ends of the porch canopy pole slot into and fasten them to the steel uprights that my Minny has. The steel poles can take this tension and so there is now no problem with the canopy pole on the fabric or zips of my tent.
However, as the Nevada has fibreglass upright poles they may not be able to take this tension as well. But it may be worth trying.
Just to let everyone know. I paid a visit to my dealer over the weekend, took the tent and reciept with me and after a 10 minute argument, reluctantly agreed to a repair free of charge and the understanding that he would pass on our photos of the tent setup showing the tension. Today I recieved a phone call that Outwell have agreed to a replacement tent. While at my dealer i did look at the 2009 neveda range and they have changed the design on the pole, this now has a couple of angled bendeds in which reduced the overall tension on the door. In fact i could close the door one handed... but apparently Outwell haven't had any problems and they change the design ever year!!!
We've got a 2009 nevada 4 and when we put it up in the garden we noticed the tension on the side door - it wasn't put up hugely well as we just wanted to check it before we go away this weekend. Husband did play around with it and got it working, it still seems to be quite tight and as everyone says you need the adjustable strap right on the edge.....on the plus side I contacted outwell about our other tent which is 2 years old and they are sending me replacement poles - I was quite impressed by that - though had to search the forums to find the oase email...so waiting for them to turn up too.
Hmmm! I very nearly bought a Vango Orchy 600 last week but when I got to the tent shop I saw the Nevada M pitched right next door and preferred it ALOT. I love the height, windows, canopy bit over the side door etc etc. I had pretty much decided this was the tent I wanted as a weekender or me alone with the kids tent but now am a little worried.
Everywhere seems to be out of stock atm but everyone seems to say they will have new stock at the beginning of July. So am I right in thinking the 2009 model is better? Or perhaps we just dont know yet? The peak of summer is yet to start and I suppose people will only notice or have problems when they have the tent pitched for a day or two.
Hmmm. Not sure what to do now.

As I state above, LittleLemon, I'm not convinced that the fibreglass poles of the Nevada can handle the force exerted by the bent porch pole as well as the metal poles of the Minnesota can. My suspicion is that the problems with the Minny are quality control (webbed strapping too long) but it is a fundamental design problem with the Nevada.
