I know you haven't been camping for a few years, but at the time what tents did you aspire to own . Trust me , with the brief you have given you are going to get soo many suggestions , and as you are experienced , I'd thought I'd ask a slightly different question .
thanks for the replys, the last tent was a from millets not sure of the make but was good for what i used it for festivals and weekends away.this time round i want something a little bit better.i know 200-300 is not much.and again thanks for the replys

Welcome! Hope you enjoy the site. I have learned nearly everything I know on here!
We have an Outwell Oregon 5- bit smaller than the one you are looking at but really happy with the Outwell brand and if I upgrade to a bigger one would love another Outwell

I posted this thread the other day about Go Outdoors having the Wild Country Halo 43 at £200. It's rrp is £350 and I was really impressed with the quality.
One advantage of getting a tent at the lower end of your budget is that it leaves some cash for tent-related additions that most would say are pretty much essential: footprint groundsheet and carpet for the living area.
First decide on Cotton, Polycotton or Polyester. Search the forum threads and you will get a range of opinions on the pro's and con's of each.
With your budget you can consider a very wide range of choices for Polyester and a smaller range for the others (which are better but bulkier and slightly more high maintainance). Consider continental retailers who ship to the UK as well for Cotton and Polycotton if you decide on either of those. They are often cheaper than their UK equivalents but have different brands.
if it is 2 adults in each pod you will prob want to be seperate from the other couple so something that has the sleeping areas at opposite ends of the tent might be better.
So the hartford is a good bet but a large footprint. See what deals you can get on an idaho which might suit as both couples would not only have a seperate bedroom but also a private dressing area each.

well what i have read on reviews from others the Outwell Hartford L sounds like a good buy.right at the top of my budget think i might push to get the carpet and ground sheet.had a good look at sites to get a deal but there all the same price £299.99.does anyone know of a better price for this tent many thanks again for the replys you all have been a great help am glad i did a review on this before i jumped the gun.
I would wait till Monday for Gooutdours sale offers that week . I know that the Hi-Gear Sahara 6 will be £199.99 soon , possibly that week. Also have a look at Vango Diablos and Killington . And if you are prepared to spend £300, there is always the Coleman Evolva, for which I can personally recommend.
