Spudz, you should be an ambassador for Esvo. You certainly know what you are talking about :)

We asked the guy in Esvo what the difference was between heavy and light cotton apart from the obvious weight and packsize and he said they are both top quality but the heavier cotton has a little longer lifespan but if looked after, all their cotton will live long and happily :)

OH is a curious guy and really wanted to know what the score is regarding De Wit and their Cabanon tents. Well he found out :)

Our Atlanta has to be returned to De Wit to have the tape at the front of the canopy taken off and replaced (someone must have been at their sewing machine hung over early one Monday morning ) and we got an emal from someone else saying they do the De Wit repairs and to take it back to the store for collection blah blah blah.

So OH replied and asked about the Cabanon tent situation and this is what they said...........

Repairs are done in a workshop here. This company also imports tents and supply other stores including De Wit but dont sell them to the public.

So it looks like De Wit really dont make their own tents and I am disappointed to hear that. They are still top quality but it is always nice when a manufacterer actually makes their own tents,

But hey, my curisoity has disappeared lol

Angie

Well isn't that interesting, Bardani, Cabanon, DeWit
DWS ... almost all the greats.

I like the look of the DeWit Java, have been eyeballing it on the DeWit website. Interesting too that they describe it as a lightweight canvas, at 280gr for the roof and 185gr for the walls. A clever mix of canvas I think.
Their prices aren't the best though, so it's worth doing the research.

I agree that De Wit prices pretty high. We got extrememly lucky with our Atlanta 6. The RRP was €1395 but because we got it from another store and they are not made anymore, we got it at a really excellent price 17

The quality is excellent though. I was totally thrown by that hole appearing on the front of our canopy and temporarily lost heart in the tent but looking back to its first trip when we had a serious thunderstorm and our second trip where we had wind gusts up to 8 and the tent performed perfectly, the tent is off for repair this weekend and will be as good as new again so she is definately a keeper .

The De Wit customer services are also excellent and for us, this is important when investing in a new tent.
