Hi, We have just bought the Arkansas 7. I WAS very excited about our first camping trip, however I've just read reviews regarding the poles not coming apart, has anyone else had this problem? Or does anyone have any advice?
Thanks

Hamilton...I've been looking at the Arkansas 5 and during my research I saw something about twisting the poles. Dont know if it applies for your tent. What do you think of the tent and where did you get it from?
Hi, thanks we'll bear that in mind. We got ours from Camperite in Colchester (they have an Arkansas 5 on display). Going out for the first time on the 27th so will let you know. We went for this one because it's very light and airy with lots of space and the canopy at the front.
Hi there. We have purchased an Arkansas 7, and also became a bit nervous over the poles. I read on this website about using a little copper-slip (spray) on first use. We did exactly that (took a bit of time to do it carefully) and have never had a problem with the poles coming apart since. I have put it up and taken it down a few times with no problems too!
My best advice is to do an online search for erecting the Arkansas 5 - it really helped us in putting it up easily (between my wife and I).
It's a great tent, and we have since added to ours with an imporvides awning arrangement - looks fab and is really great to use. We had a few caravn users visit us, who traded up from a tent as there family grew (they wish they hadn't after seeing our tent). Have a great time.

We had our arky7 out for the first time this weekend and I was nervous about pitching it (bad back) and getting it down after reading the reviews. Not too many problems pitching once we got our head round it and it came down like a dream. Before we went away I sprayed the end of the straight poles with a silicon spray and let it dry. When we came to take it down the poles fell apart by themselves so no problems at all.
All in all I have been very pleased with the tent and glad hubby finally got me to take the plunge for a monster tent, the space is fab and the carpet is a worthwhile extra as is the footprint.
