Hello All,

We were wondering if anyone could pass on any information regarding a Cabanon Rotonde tent.

We are thinking of buying one second hand but I really can't seem to find out much info on these tents.

I love the look of this tent.

Does anyone know when Cabanon stopped making them?

Many thanks

Carol

Hi I have a quite old very orange and brown rotonde but I think they went on to make them in blue and green (have seen some like that on ebay) Mine was 23 yrs old when I bought it earlier this yr and apart from some poles needing re springing the tent is in good condition. Cabanon do make tents to last

There is lots of room inside and the bay window at front is unusual and offers lots of light. We haven't managed to use ours yet this year but will do hopefully soon but want to try out elody first as we are taking this one to France in Aug

Hi, I bought a 'vintage' one (orange and brown)that was older than Gail's but have sold it to my niece as we have another tent more suited to two people, and she's just starting out. It's quite big - over 17ft x 15ft and plenty of head height at over 6ft 2". The three window panels each roll up to give lots of air, and the bedroom in our model opened up into one big room, which is wonderful for a young family. Had funky check curtains and cushion covers too. Putting it up was fine - my niece and I did it between us without any real problem or instructions, just the catalogue photo and we figured out what went where OK (but we have put up frame tents before). Rotondes were 'all canvas' which makes them very breathable. It would also make a great garden party tent if you have a garden big enough. Big and bulky but spacious and a bit quirky.

Do campers 'peg it'?

Just sold our Cabanon Rotonde on eBay. It's off for a new life in Japan!!

Supposedly, in the Japanese market these tents are the coolest ever.

Big smiles.

We had one back in '93 as our first tent bought secondhand.
Basically there were three sections, the front middle and rear, each of which was spring-linked with additional poles for the legs.
Again with any frame tent the process is to set up the frame at half height and then put the canvas on.
The front sections was the largest and heaviest so we erected it first followed by the middle and then rear.
Loved this tent and it served us well well standing up to all weathers.
We only sold it on when our kids stopped camping with us, and then we bought a smaller frame tent for ourselves.
