My tent came from obelink. Fast delivery, ordered sunday and it arrived friday. We set off on saturday morning for an overnight camp.
We got it pitched very easily. For such a large tent it was easy to do. There was one part where the stitching was a bit off but it was fixed easily. The canvas is a nice creamy colour not bright white or anything.
Inside it's a great big space much larger than it looks from outside. Plenty of room to stand up which is a new thing for me in a tent. We tucked the mud flaps under the ground sheet and it stayed there.
Our tent has a ring on the main pole so that you can hang things up which is really handy. There are four small windows around the side wall, these have bug screens. The tent has ties so that you can put the walls up in good weather. Also it has little eyelets so that you can attach an inner all around the back. We were led to believe that only the more expensive bell tents would have these features so it was great to see we have them.
Overnight it was very warm and cosy in the tent. I would say we'll need to rig up mozzie/midge nets over the bed as bugs get in to this tent by the door. It rained in the morning and there were no leaks, the rain beaded up and it shed it really well.
It's a lovely tent and I look forward to many trips hanging out in it.

Bionic, your tent looks great! So glad you enjoyed your stay in it. I took mine to a festival this weekend, and put the inner up for me and my daughter - we slept so well it was lovely and warm, and I love the light in the tent, it is so bright and airy. She went off to play and I lay there with all the windows open (the inner has little windows that match the outer windows) I read my book and just chilled out for a couple of hours. I love the privacy of this particular tent. Lots of kids came in and out of the tent to play they all loved it!
Get one of those parasol lights to go on the top of the pole, they are brilliant and light up the tent really well at night.

Not really. I used this photo tutorial. http://www.flickr.com/photos/belltentuk/page2/
This is belltent.co.uk's tutorial but it looks exactly like my one from obelink. I took out the ground sheet pegs and just tucked the mud flap under it. It didn't move around when we had everything in the tent. As someone said those pegs with the flat tops would be good for keeping it in place on a day when you have the sides rolled up.
A quick question for the canvas experts. What do you recommend for cleaning it? A bird pooped on it and I want to know how best to clean it. Was thinking toothbrush and mild detergent?

Hi, Don't use detergent, it will spoil the waterproofing. There is a proper cleaner for cotton/canvas available from camping shops or on line.
Our tents do look identicle except for the rings on the poles. I bet there is perhaps one difference for each of the tents, from each of the uk suppliers.

I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
I'm new to the site, I joined because I tried to order the bell tent with Obelink on the phone and they said they don't deliver to the UK, I was wondering how you ordered?
many thanks, hope you have a good summer
