Hi All,
Going camping this weekend...well tomorrow dinner..Woodhall spa..if your going there I'm the one with 'all the gear and no idea' (and eveything in new boxes)
completely new to camping...Just brought the Evolva with the chef annexe, extra bedroom and link annexe.
just also brought all the other stuff aswell...
But it dawned on me...do you actually cook in the 'chef annexe'
I'm thinking not...to dangerous... but then why is it a chef annexe?
Also where do you cook in inclement weather?
cheers
Mark

Here's the deal Mark . The material on the Evolva , like all polyester tents is flame resistant. Not flame proof. Most of us cook outside when the weather is fine , or get underneath awning or canopy and hide behind windbreak . Some cook in a utility tent . I have cooked inside but near the door and never left it alone . But a fire extinguisher is a sensible precaution if you have to cook inside . Now with the Evolva , as it can be pitched independantly you could cook safely away from the main tent . It also has a window that does open completely, so if you are cooking there , providing infront of it is clear , you can throw things out . It also allows for cooking smells to escape. I think Coleman named it a Chef Annexe as it sounds better than dumping ground, although in fairness it has utensil hooks and some pockets , and the zip out cool bag and a hanging rail for clothes. It keeps the main tent clear .I intend to insert the link annexe between the chef annexe and main tent and keep this as a completely separate area with its own entrance , so I can cook under that door awning with everything close at hand , and dine in the Link .
BIL was at WoodHall Spa last weekend . Very nice and flat , and pricey!!
------------- Be seeing you!!

arrrr... right now thats another lightbulb moment....
I was just going to put the 'front door' facing the front of the pitch... are you saying that I can pitch it any way depending on wind & view?
do I look on the site to see how everyone else has pitched (a bit like tv aerials)?
but thats interesting having the doors face opposite directions....
Cheers
Mark
