thanks, i must sound a bit thick but any advice on the straps inside the then they sem to restrict me in putting up the tent oh! and how do i know which is the front and which is the back thanks
The straps inside?
I assume the tent has a seperate grondsheet yes?
If so, the straps are to determine the width of the tent when you peg it out. They should be fully expanded and lying flat on the floor and not loose. This helps determine the shape of the tent when you peg it out.
I dont know the tent but had a quick google and see the door is on the side so there is no front and back when it comes to pitching. It doesnt matter then which end you start.
When you use the tent then it will matter as you wont want the door facing the wind but while you are learning how to pitch it , it really doesnt matter.
Hope this helps

No, you don't sound thick at all,
Okay front and back, doesn't matter either way, its the same from both ends.
The straps inside are called tension straps. they provide the correct tension, ie setting the distance between the ends of the poles . they must be lying flat to the ground , and be as straight as possible to get a good shape to the tent.
if they have buckles , loosen these off before you start to put the pins in the poles . There is a bit of force needed to bend the poles to insert the pins into the poles , this is normal, its this tension that holds the tent up, moving the flysheet fabric towards the centre of the poles as you are doing this helps too .
Once you have the tent up, go inside and check the straps, move the poles about if neccesary to get it as "squared off" as possible . difficult to put into words but the straps should be in parallel lines equally spaced not slanting ? Once you have this done, peg through the rings, to hold the poles in postion, but make sure doors are colsed first and that they can be opened and closed without any strain on the zip.
