Hello all fellow campers

I am a camping newby. Bought a wynnster Orion 6 at a good price and I'm off to France for three weeks this July with two small kids and the "man that can't put an ikea shelving unit up let alone a tent."

SO, me and a girlfriend are going to go to a semi local campsite for the night and practice with the tent. But is it true that using the guide that comes with the tent is NOT the best way to put it up? Does anyone have some experience with these type of tents and thus lots of handy hints they could share?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as putting the tent up is my number one concern (shortly followed by how the **** amd I going to fit all this stuff in my tiny car)

Louise

Hi Louise

hope this finds you before your trip, baically follow the instructions that you will find sewn in the bag of the tent its just a process of ensuring you follow the colour coding syatem with the poles. two tips though

1/ when you have threaded the poles and before you start to erect it open the door and get someone to crawl inside and lift the tent from the inside whilst the other locates the pole ends into the webbing strap eyelets (someone lifting the weight makes the job much easier)

2/ never pitch your tent with any of the doors open always zip fully closed this helps ensure you done over peg it and then you find the door wont close properly. People then think the zip is sticking and force it when actually they have overstretched the tent

hope this helps you

Hi thanks for that - unfortunately came after i went but your advice was spot on.

The instructions inside the bag were misleading. Thankfully I followed the advice of a fellow camper on our first trp and now got the tent piching down to just under 40 mins!

Hope you enjoy your Wynnster as much as we enjoy ours. We love ours and can't wait to get away in it again soon.

Hi Lisa

I DO love it. The living area is sooooo huge and perfect for those days when the sun don't shine and the rain do pour...

It's my first tent and I'm very, very pleased with it. The quality is outstanding. And it held up very well though wind, rain and my tent rubbish hubbie who never became accustomed to the multiple zips and finally managed to break one...

Hmmmm

very large though, I was very concious of its size....
