hi all my partners 18 year old daughter and bf have been hit with the camping bug after joining us in may as with everything she does she couldnt wait and went to gooutdoors yesterday and brought the hi gear sahara 6 for the two of them on first impressions it does look quick a nice size tent she plans to remove the back pod so access is better through back door and also she brought some extras to fill the tent an aldi low cupboard after seeing mine ;) and also the cooker anyway i quite like the look and for a few seconds was like wow hanging cup holders and hanging storage things on both sides in main area and ehu zip entrys on each pod snazzy repair kit which included replacement pod toggles, guy lines, and usual stuff in a little bag, standard pegs and v shaped heavy duty pegs to,but wasnt quite sure on the windows as the roll up on the outside and are half mesh and half clear so when it rains you have to run round and close them all or the inside of the tent gets wet plus they are all clear windows with no blackout covers now am i being picky as she got it for 200 quid so im really after some feedback from you all if you have one have seen one your thoughts on it

i know that hi gear is a trading name for gelert and sold only to gooutdoors so quality should be ok and it has a 3000 hydrostatic head

Hi - I have no answers to your questions but I do have a question for you!!! Where did your partner's daughter find the instructions for the Sahara 6. We have just bought one and I cannot find them anywhere - am trying to avoid another trip to Go Outdoors as I will undoubtedly end up buying something else!!!!

hi they are sown in to the inside of the bag which is on the side that the tent itself is housed also i would advise that you check your tent as our one had a small hole in it and when i put it away the bag ripped very easily

That is where I thought they would be - but they're not!!! Finally gave in and sent hubby back to Go Outdoors where he managed to get a copy. Will be checking the tent itself out later so fingers crossed for that!!

Thanks for your help!

The outside blind thing is the classic design, so don't worry. It's more waterproof to put the window cover on the outside with an overlap all round than put it on the inside!

I have the gelert horizon 6 which is exactly the same tent but with a different brand name.

I've used it 3 times since I bought it (in all weathers) and have no problems to report whatsoever!

we purchased a sahara 6,very nice tent  we decided to put tent up to see how it looked and check it out, there was some black poles missing so rang go outdoors and they said they would get some for us which they did.we pittched tent at local cricket club to again check it out.tested it for leaks and found out it leaked through the window in the roof.took it back to go outdoors and they said that we have to leave tent with them for a week so they could test it.we demanded our money back there and then as we live hour away from thr store we werent prepared to travel and be out of pocket.they gave us a full refund and apologised.i imagine there is nothing wrong with the sahara tent but this put us off.we have sine got a tigris 800 and we are very happy with it.

we have a hi gear sahara tent and brought it on offer.

we don't use the back pod as we turn that area in cooking/ storage.

good living area, we usally only rol up the windows half way to stop the rain getting in.

be aware that some camp sites class it as an extra large tent so we usally tell them the tent make when we enquire about a campsite.
