Have bought Outwell Goldfield Plus 3-dome tent on ebay. Everything seems correct and present apart from lack of instructions. Can see what it's meant to look like externally from photos but can't fathom out where the internal straps go that hold the corners in place before the ground sheet goes down. All the straps come with a quick release mechanism but were all undone when bought. Two corners each have a two straps (one slightly longer than other) and two opposite corners each have two connectors. Only way I can get everything connected is by having two straps running in front of two side pods and remaining longer straps going diagonally, which pulls whole tent out of shape! Hope this makes sense - new to this lark and have family holiday in France looming!

I think the straps you are talking about are to tighten/tension your canvas when its pegged down.I think you will find the long straps run under the pods to connect each side together .Its just make things more stable.
Is this the tent you have bought.

If the long straps run under the two side pods, where do the shorter straps go? Or are they for different levels of tension?
A long and a short strap with male connectors start at the corner of each side pod and the rear pod. Two female connectors are located on the ring at each corner of side pod and entrance.
Thanks all for prompt replies.

Hi james, it was me who sent the instructions to you!
We have never undone the straps -ever!! They go in front of each of the pods and one across the front in front of the porch to make a square. You need to make sure they are at right angles to each other at the corners of the main living area of tent before you put any pegs in to ensure the correct shape of the tent is achieved. We haven't ever needed to adjust them. The shorter two are the front and back ones, the longer two go in front of the larger bedroom pods.
thankyou so much - the answer I have been looking for. Previous owner must have moved some of the female connectors turning a relatively simple job into a Mensa style challenge!
Your advice on not undoing after is noted too.
Can now go camping without fear of providing an afternoon's entertainment and hilarity for onlooking family and any neighbouring campers.
Yours gratefully,
James

After a fairly stressful few hours and a narrowly avoided divorce me and my partner (and a few others) managed to get this up with out the instructions.
If someone would be so kind I would love a copy of the instructions for this tent so I can avoid the pain and raised blood pressure next time...
