We have just purchased a quechua III Air Pup tent for our two tall teenage sons who want their own space. They thought the Quechua II would be too small so we have bought them the quechua III air which measures 200X225cm. However when we have put it up it seems huge in our small garden!! Just wondering if anyone knows if it would be too big to be classed as a pup tent??? Hoping to put it on pitch with a caravan and awning.

Should be okay, dedpends if the site wants your custom or not. As far as I know, a pup tent is classed as ancilliary , and provided it is not considered a separate independant unit on your pitch you should be fine. Foot print is stilll smaller than some utility tents.
Thanks I didn't think of it like that. Will risk it and see and if not allowed they will have to put it in the awning or all squash into the van!! It might not look so huge once on site?
You'll be all right with that. A pup tent is classed as an auxilliary tent used only for sleeping and personal belongings and really just berth sized. You'rs doesn't even have a bell end! The classic pup tent is something like a Vango Delta 300, which has a footprint of around 2m x 3m, including the small bell end.

We have a Quechua 3 Seconds and have had no probs using it as a pup tent; never had questions asked or eyebrows raised. Well, not as far as I am aware, anyhow!
