We recently purchased a Royal Bordeaux 6 ZG tent. It had been a choice between that one and the Monty6. After much deliberation, we chose the Royal.
I was a little concerned as the downside to it was the bedroom arrangement, ie, 3 separate bedroom pods. The two outside being 140cm wide and the middle one 120cm wide. Also, I had read reviews that said the main front door did not have a mesh one included. This would be a great reduction in ventilation.
However, I need not have worried as it appears that the good people at Royal have listened to the concerns and have addressed these issues.
The bedrooms now consist of a generous 4 person pod which can be divided into two rooms if required, and a separate 2 person pod.
Also, there is now a mesh front included with the front entrance.
I think now these worries have been fixed they could well take the Outwell Monty 6's crown as preferred 6 berth of choice (if they improve their marketing).
I imagine that there will still be lots of suppliers selling the tent with the previous bedroom setup from their remaining stock, so check with them before purchase, if you get one. I got mine from SK Camping.
I'll be taking it for it's first proper outing in July and will then be in a position to give a full review.
