...go away tomorrow night without having done a trial run at pitching it beforehand?!
I REALLY wanna take the new one away, even though we don't have the children this weekend and we might look a bit odd with 2 people in an 8 man tent. But you know how it is when you get a new toy.
It's a Khyam Quebec 8 and everywhere seems to quote the picthing time as 25 minutes, so I'm hoping it's not gonna be too bad.
Any thoughts/comments greatly appreciated.
Great forum/site by the way. Without doubt, one of the most useful I've ever used!
Cheers,
Jud

Congratulations on a really splendid tent. If you have had any experience of tunnel tents , then you will be okay . If not , look at a pitching video of a Vango Tigris, it will give you an idea . Other wise , if you can , do .
We ordered our new ten on the thurs and they ssid it would be here for the friday, so we got everything pcked up ready and went as soon as Oh got home from work. I was to excited and could not wait a full week to try our new tent out. So i say go for it. And enjoy.
Go for it! We'll be off in our 8 man tent this weekend and there's only two of us! If you see a small mushroom cloud rising over west wales, that'll be us trying to get the tent up and failing.

It does look rather big for 2 people, but who cares!
I would have done a trial run before taking it to camp for real, as I believe it would prevent arguments about how it should be errected at the campsite.
I do not want to look like an idiot at the campsite, which I did with my Freelander recently, when I discovered the tent was pointing 90 deg off due to my inability to work out which was the front, doh!!!
Good luck and enjoy your holiday!

We took our Tigris away without pitching it first - knew it was a risk but it won't fit in our garden! I just checked around the bag to make sure all the pieces were there - pegs, all the poles etc.
