Seriously though, there's no replacement for going and seeing some tents and imagining how you'd set them up.

Also think about pack size, ease of setup, any built in features (sig, storage etc) oh, and what colour you'd like!

We could argue that cotton is way better than polycotton but at the end of the day, everyone is entitled tot heir own choice and opinion

Bell tents are lovely but it is always a good idea to try and see tents in the flesh so to speak before spashing the cash.

Finding your perfect tent is not an easy thing to do. We have but have been through a lot of tents to get there and the more tents you buy, try and resell, the more money you lose.

So if possible, get yourself to a tent display or 2 and see what jumps out and grabs you.

Whatever you buy, we want pics though ok lol

If possible go and see tents in the flesh to give you an idea of size - they all look really easy and managable on the Net or in magazines!!
Also they look deceptively spacious when empty so for 3 of you, look for at least a 5 berth tent.

* Think about pack size and weight - will it fit in your car/trailer?
* Tunnel tents are easy to pitch and fit on 99% of standard pitches - anything over 5m wide and problems can begin to occur.
* Check the size of the bedroom pods as manufactureres seem to base the sizes on 50cm-60cm wide mats rather than airbeds which are around 75cm wide.
* Do you want a SIG (sewn in groundsheet)?

We have the Khyam Ontario 8 which is a fabulous tent (there are 5 of us) and they also do a 6 berth version which might suit you.
Our tent measures 7.5m x 3.7m x 2.25m tall. Genuine 8 berth as it will take 8 x 75cm wide airbeds and still has over 3m x 3m of living space.

Take your time - don't rush out and buy the first tent you see. Recommendations are good to have to help narrow down the vast choice out there. Once you have your short list, go and see it for real if you can. I would suggest you go for a well known brand - Khyam, Outwell, Vango, Gelert etc....
Tents are expensive and you get what you pay for so ensure you get the one that is going to suit YOUR needs.

Little tip if you are going to camping displays. Move furniture about to get a true sense of space . I don't know if its on your short list , but if you are after a Coleman Evolva, act quickly as there are so few left, a similar story also with some of the Outwell tents and I think the Vango Tigris 800 is running low also .
