There is a Khyam Excelsior 12 man tent in an advert in the local shop for £150, not sure how old as I havent spoken to them yet. We have a couple of events that we could use this for this year so I would be interested to hear your views on it please. Our first tent was a Khyam but it always took us so long to put up (yes I know there ment to be quick!) we now have a cheap 8 man which is really easy but we only use it a couple of times a year and in not sure if it could take a storm. The events I would use it for wouldn't worry about the size, but I would think its to big for a normal pitch size. We also now have teenagers that like to camp out in the garden and I thought this might be good for that.

Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes

New! Please upload a photo of your tent to the Tent Showcase!

That's a heck of a tent for 150 beer vouchers. We have it's baby brother the XXL and I'd guess it's the older maroon and green heavier 4 oz fabric rather than the later 2 oz ones. It's got a good 2 metres and change in had room and you can even stand up in the bedrooms. Worth a punt though... bet you'd be the proud owner of that badboy for 125 ! A snap to put up and i reckon with a bit of practice you could be standing inside it 20-25 minutes afer breaking your back getting it out the back of your car and unzipping the bag. I'm a Khyam addict so this post is definately biased. 17

Considering the 2009 Freelander I bought was 199.99 GBP to replace the Excelsior XL that is too big to pitch on my own, and only sleeps 3, this sounds like a bargain at 150 GBP.

However, I am wary about buying second hand, in case it is defective/not being looked after etc...

Strongly advise you to check it out thoroughly, like pitching it up somewhere with the current owner etc...
