Hi all

I'm on the hunt for a new tent.  Mostly it's likely to be just my son and me (he's nearly 3) going away for a couple of nights, possibly up to 4.  Sometimes my OH may also be there.  It should really have room to stand and a decent living space.  I'm drawn to the Outwell Nevada 3 (in Go outdoors for £160 right now) because of the fully sewn in groundsheet which is attached to the flysheet.  I reckon it would be a bit more comfortable in our variable climate.  My only concerns are cooking in it (although I'd don't usually cook in a tent anyway) or having a small table and chairs if there are 3 of us.  I've read the reviews, it seems to get good reviews (although there are only 2).  Is it big enough? Are there any alterantives anyone could recommend?  Certainly this is probably at the top of what I would be looking to pay.  I don't mind if the tent is bigger, or has slightly different features - I'm open to any suggestions and would rather buy on a recommendation!

Thanks

P.S. Must be capable of pitching solo!

What about an Outwell Carolina?

Quite spacious for a 3 person tent

Thanks!

I'm a bit fussy - the Nevada 3 may be about half a metre (c2ft) to small in the living area, but the Carolina is a bit too big.  Ideally I'd like the Arizona with the ground sheet attached to the flysheet for the purpose of staying warm!

As for the Coleman waterfall, ther's something about its appearance that doesn't appeal to me personally.

Hi NNW

"I'm drawn to the Outwell Nevada 3"

We bought a Nevada 3 recently, and have tested it in anger, as well as in the back garden.

I think that it is great for two people - either father and son, or two adults. But it would be pushing it to sleep three, plus the assorted junk.

Three people means one sleeping in the main area, which means that the clutter is very cluttered.

With only two people, there is plenty of room for the debris, plus enough spare room in the bedroom area for a clutter box.

Also - easy to pitch - my Mrs Happy managed it all by herself in less than 30 minutes, start to finish. (Sadly, I arrived too late to help. What a pity.) We also stuck our Outwell Side Canopy on the front, and that works well too.

Overall, I'd give it a big thumbs up on value for money.
The only minor niggle that I can see is that it has very few ventilation holes.

Btw - the one we bought from Go Outdoors was blue, not green as in their advert photo.

Hope that helps.
Z

Have a look at the the Licata 400 which would suit your needs. EasyCamp tents are made by Outwell so great quality but cheaper!
3 hoop tunnel tent so nice and easy to pitch, SIG, standing height, good size bedroom easily accomodates 3, large living area.
I bought ours in the sale and paid £99.99

Well, just bought an Outwell Nevada 3 from Go Outdoors in Coatbridge for the rather spectaular price of £86, in my humble opinion!!  I did go for the Vango Icarus, but it was sold out.  Only other tent I nearly went for was the Vango Venture (£69 -15%)but it looked like it might prove to be a big sail!

RRP of £200, on sale at £159, further reduced to £110 then with 15% off somehow the till rang it through at £86!  I'm fair chuffed.

P.S. Thanks Zorro, your "review" sold it.

Can't go wrong at that price!! Plus even if you get something bigger in the future, you have always got a weekender or overnighter handy.
