Hi, I've just tried out my Outwell Utah 4 and it has a Bathtub Groundsheet. does anyone have any advice on how to fit best and if fitted well can you leave it attached if you want to make pitching quicker?

Really loved the tent but I know we messed up the groundsheet this time and would like to get it right this time.

Also if any one has any tips about pitching in general and advice gratefully received. I have very bruised arms from battling with the ring and pin on the porch. Would it be easier to undo floor straps insert poles and then rejoin floorstraps.

Next dry weather we have I will be trying all methods in the garden, but as Ive said any advice will be very grateful. Thanks

Happy camping!!

Hi,

I have had my tent for 3 years and still working out which is the best way to fit the bathtub ground sheet.  lol  because i am always forgetting which way it should fit.

Well so far I find it easier to attache it before I put the bedroom section in first.  The bath tub should follow the shape of the tent. There should be toggles which as you know on the bathtub after they have been inserted there should be loops attached as well which pegs are put through then go into the ground creating a wall going up the side of the tent.  Smooth out the sheet so there is'nt any creases.

Before inserting the ring and pin it may be best to loosen the straps first. Which i have to do on my tent and then tighten on my tent they are tension straps.  I've just reread your message as you are having problems with the porch.  Maybe you could give it a go and see how it works sometime it's trial and error.  My tent is the vango oregon 400 which has the bath tub rather than the sig.  Sorry i can't give you any more help or ideas.  Have fun

My next camping trip is Berkshire.  My sister and her kids are joining me.  i'm supplying the tent and equipment they are bringing their sleeping bags. I am going down the day before so i can relax before they descend. Also i can put their tent up the next day.  Hopefully I will have the morning to my self.

Hi,

Though we disconnected the groundsheet last time we put our Utah 6 away, I have since looked at other posts that said you can leave it connected, so we may try that next time (unless the groundsheet's wet and the flysheet isn't).

I think we only had a problem with one ring&pin, but loosened the tension strap a bit till it was ok. We've only pitched the tent once so not very experienced yet, but we followed the instruction video and everything seemed to fit ok. Groundsheet also fine once OH pointed out I had it the wrong way round!

Hi,

We have the Utah 6 - On its test pitch in the garden we connected the groundsheet.

Since then we have left it connected, luckily when we have camped out the weather has been kind enough that we have packed away dry if not near dry - the had it all out at home to dry it.

With the porch ring and pin, take a little time to make sure it isn't twisted around the main poles that form the main tunnel - if that makes any sense.

We like the tent but are stuggling to find an extension. Would be handy in the rain.
