Just purchased a Homestead 52 as our first ever family tent ready for a camping trip next month.
We have put it up without too much swearing and it was easy to take down.
Just wondering if anyone else has one and what they think of it? Never heard of the make before and there is only one review on here, alot of campers talk about their Outwells or Vangos so not sure if we will be sniggered at on the campsite???!!
I like it though - even the stripey curtains are growing on me
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
I assume that you have been to Go Outdoors? Anyone who knows their tents will actually be full of praise; Wild Country is a good brand of tent and, in many ways, better than Outwell and Vango (just feel the quality of your groundsheet, for example). Look after it and it will look after you.
We did comment on the quality of the groundsheet when we were looking at tents, and the seams and stitching are great, and it has 4000 hh thingy, which apparantly is good!
Yes we went to Go Outdoors, and I believe they are doing 15% off tents on Thursday but due to work commitents we cant get there, so they gave us armed forces discount which was equal. All in all it seemed a good price!
I have a wild country halo 73, am extremely happy with it. It withstood torrential rain and high winds when I last used it and after a couple of times I can put it up very quickly.
I have never camped in a Wild Country tent but have admired them in camping exhibitions. My impression is that they are good, strong, well designed tents. Less bells and whistles than, say, Outwells, but I suspect they may be better build quality. The Wild Country brand is about quality and shrugging off the elements rather than always incorporating the latest trend - great choice!
