Hi everyone,

So I have now decided that a Cabanon Guadeloupe might be the tent for me but there is nowhere near me where I can see one up. Do any of you have one and can you tell me if I could comfortably fit in a double air bed and a single air bed taking into account the slope of the roof and the pole inside? When made up with numerous duvets etc would these have to definately not touch the canvas to avoid leaks as there is no inner tent is there? I would be grateful to hear from any Guadeloupe owners as I dont want to make an expensive mistake - is it just me or is it easy to get carried away with the excitement of buying a new tent...

Thanks.

Hi, double airbed yes but not the single as well. Even with the double you maybe touching the sides with the bedding! No inner tent just a curtain divide.  Love my Guadeloupe & for 1 ideal. Living space is not huge either.

We have a double airbed and it's fine. Difficult to get single in as well, though did hear someone say you could leave dividing curtain open to make bed area bigger, but then you lose living space. Says 4 berth but best for 2 I think.

The pyramide tents are lovely, we have two, but you have to bear in mind that they are pyramid shaped and so boxy square things don't fit in very well. If you can work with the internal space though, rather than against it, then you will have a stylish looking, comfy, ultra safe and dependable tent which is superfast to erect and will last for years.

Our main family tent is a Pyramide 6, to which we add on the front canopy and/or a kitchen tent depending on needs, and we love it. I used to chop and change our family tent every year but this will be our third or fourth year with the Pyramide as it suits us so well

Mmmm, confusing. Just as me and my son have got our sleeping arrangements perfect and I imagine feeling so safe and cosy in a pyramid tent. Maybe I'd better look at the pyramide 6 but it seems a bit excessive for two... and would it be a suitable weekend or longer tent for 1 adult and 1 child? I need something I can put up by myself, really like the idea of canvas, have just sold my Biscaya as now too big, any suggestions for the perfect tent welcome17

Hi edna clouds

I have a Guadeloupe for weekending and we sleep four in it. We fit in two fat airics and 2 self inflating mats for the kids (who are both young). The mats fill the bedroom half with a little space here and there. I've not put a double airbed in though...I've always felt that there was plenty of space and wasn't annoyed by being too close to the sides. Now I bet you'll be really confused!

It's a great tent, easy to put up, great character and and yes, safe and cosy! I guess it would be good if you could see one up...

Good luck deciding....

How about some images of inside, thinking of one for us as a one night stand.

If my memory serves the Guad is 3m wide. A double is 1.4m wide and a single is 0.7m wide. You could physically fit 2 doubles in if you chose but it would be a squeeze.

It is a 4-man tent. I have seen the Guad in the flesh but own a similarly sized Pyramide.

For 2 I think it would easily be big enough for a weeks holiday.

You will be able to fit a small table and 2 chairs in if it rains.

It is not the kind of tent where you take a stroll to the west wing but I think is just right for 2.

I think people are getting bigger and bigger tents and so the idea of minimum acceptable space is also growing.

It's a lovely tent for 2, can you not put 2 single airbeds in instead of the double+single? My only concern with a double & single is it would be hard to keeping the bedding off the sloping sides & wouldn't it get wet if raining?

Would a barbados not fit your needs better?  It is a bit bigger, only used it for two of us but it is very roomy.

Hi and thank you for all your help. Yes I'm thinking now that a barbados would be better but there are none on ebay! Is it still easy for one person to put up do you think? (I'm 5'4'')

Really tempted to get one as a one nightstand but would we all fit??

2 adults, 2 kids, one dog??

Is there a bigger model that would suffice

We have a Pyramide 6, so can say that that would be very straightforward for you to put up. The Barbados would be slightly harder work as it has a permanently attached groundsheet so you would be wrestling with the canvas and groundsheet all in one go, rather than separately as with the P6.

Both the Barbados and the P6 have the advantage for family camping that they have a dividing curtain in the sleeping inner.
