Wanting to buy a used Esvo Mohawk from Marktplaats has anyone ever owned this tent or has one now or can offer any advise. There are i think 2 versions of the tent a standard one and one with a kitchen extension plus a canopy with side panels over the doorway this is the one we where thinking of buying so are the kitchen extension and side panels worth having.
We have allready bought a Pyramid from Obelink but this was easy as we where buying from the tent manufacturer as opposed to buying from a private sale and being in the UK will not see what we are buying and have to trust the seller to be honest last of all what is the best way to pay for the purchase.
Thanks in advance Linda

Don't have a Mowhawk, but when I wrote to ESVO to ask if the still had instructions/info for my old Combinatietent, they sent me a .PDF file of the Mowhawk, saying it was a very similar tent.
What I can say about the Combinatietent is that all the extra bits make it a very flexible tent.
Fully loaded, the usable space is very impressive for a ridge tent, and the ability to 'shrink' or 'grow' as required, well it's just great!
There are some basic photos of the Combinatietent on the 'Upload your tent pics' thread, if you are interested.
Hi Reforse thanks for the reply just read the guide good advise in there i think i just need reassuring that our hard earned cash wont get us a dog i dare say most dutch campers are like the rest of us good honest campers OH retires in 18 months time so trying to save but can pay around 300=400 euros for a good one.
Thanks to Spudz also for info on combitent have been on Esvo website but cant find a download section think we will go for the Mohawk anyway.

Hi there, I bought a tent "blind" off marktplaats and got myself a good deal but I could quite easily have got ripped off. I just had lots of e-mail conversations with the sellers and felt that I trusted them. Paying isnt a problem as cash tranfers are pretty easy to arrange, the main problem I had was the shipping/postage aspect. I ended up going over to Holland and meeting them in the ferry car park and bringing the thing back as "hand luggage" as it was the quickest and cheapest option to all concerned.
Our ESVO Combinatie tent was bought blind off Marktplaats, with a little help from a friend.
A few e-mails, some phone calls, bank transfer and a weeks wait for the tent to arrive south of the Alps. All went very smoothly.
The seller was very helpful, e-mailing detailed instructions on how to assemble the various parts, which poles go where etc. In truth, I felt the whole process was even easier than trying to buy something from a retailer here in the land of pasta, Italian red tape can be SO frustrating!
Best of luck with your tent purchase.
