yes, we had one and the best bit was the small pack size, ease of erection and it fitted in everything we needed it to. We only sold it on as it didnt get much use.
Cheapest I have seen them is £35 from Camping and General. HTH

Yes, we have one, we've only used it one trip so far but it was brilliant. One of the best things we've bought for camping.

I'm worried it's huge! Our tent is big enough...will we be charged extra for this or don't they mind on most sites?

We have one of these and have never been charged extra for it. We find it very useful for storing "stuff" and for cooking in bad weather. It goes up quickly and takes up very little room in the car (a big consideration for me as my car is always stuffed to the gills when we go away, despite all our efforts to downsize).

So although we should never ever cook in the tent, it's ok to cook in this as it's completely separate? Sorry to sound thick!

Cooking in a utility tent is much safer. Obviously you have the same fire risk as in your tent but there is likely to only be one person cooking in it rather than the whole family. Also if your fifty quid utility tent goes up you havent lost your beloved outwell indiana.
I have just upgraded for the double outhouse to the cotton xl double outhouse, it has steel poles and is much sturdier. £55.99 incl. postage off ebay.

Plus, you need to pitch the utility tent a fair distance from your tent - otherwise if it goes up you could lose your tent anyway. As long as you don't have them side-by-side, it's MUCH safer to cook in a utility tent, all you would lose if it went up would be the tent and it's contents - which won't include other people, or be a £600 tent...
Also it's the smell & steam thing, who wants to be smelling garlic prawns all night long??
------------- 2011 plans:
April - Exmoor 11 nights
May - Brynawelon, Wales 3 nights
July - Rendlesham Forest 4 nights
Then I am off back home to Australia, where the weather is always perfect for camping :)

Thanks Chickadee for raising this post. Something I was also going to do. Thanks for positive responses. Think I'll get one as camping with family in August - normally a solo - and worried about cooking with kids about.

I have the "Handi" version of this with the extension on the back for putting up against my campervan.
It is a nice piece of kit.
I got mine in Waudbysfor £75, easily the best price around.
