Hello, We are trying to find another (smaller) De Waard and it seems that Marktplaats is about the only place to find them.
However I'm finding all the translation tools don't do a good job at all & we are still left guessing what the english translation means, and also we cannot seem to work out 'how' this system works - doesn't seem as obvious as ebay, so we are baffled!!!

Any user friendly tips would be most welcome! :-)

Hello, thanks for that, it makes a little more sense & in the process of printing both guides out to refer to!!!

However, I'm still confused as to how the system works? -How long does an item remain there,
-Can you bid like ebay
-Are the prices quoted, the price they want, or the current bid?

Some items require you to bid, some require you to make an offer, others have a fixed price that the seller wants.

About two thirds of the way down the page you will see Stuur deze advertentie door via e-mail

Click on this and send an e-mail to the seller, Most dutch speak a good level of english and will more than likely be happy to answer any questions you have.

I didn't bother bidding, I just offered the asking price. It was what I could afford and seemed fair (and quite a good deal!) based on what the sellers had told me. Obviously there was a certain amount of trust involved, it's not like I was going to pop over the north sea just for a look. There is a pricing formula for second hand De Waards, you can find it here, and there is a link to a downloadable spreadsheet that works it out for you. Be warned tho, its very complicated, oh and its in Dutch too.
By the way,in case you hadnt seen it, there is a nice little Albatros Junior on there at the moment going for €300 - my favourite small tent!

I think if Angie is under canvas thn nothing else matters

just hope she is having better weather than we have had, rained most days since she went away.

Weather is looking better for next week though which is lucky as we go away tomorrow and i do not fancy pitching the new tent in the rain for the first time
