I was wondering if anyone can enlighten me, i have acquired a new tent from a friend, but when erected it has no GUY ropes and has no loops to fit any???? i have put it up and it seems fine but I'm a bit worried that when i use it it's going to fly off !!!!!

I wouldn't use either without guy ropes. If it's the 2nd one, the side guy ropes tie onto eyelets that go thru the pole sleeves. The end guy ropes attach to the flaps over the vents. Sorry can't help if its the 1st tent, I should be so lucky.
If it's the grey one (or the older model in green!), then there are about 24 guys that hold the whole thing up! Most are attached to special eyelet bits (very technical term) on the canvas-plastic. I'd be amazed if it was one of these as I don't think there is any way it would stand up without them, short of bashing the uprights into the ground with a large mallet. I haven't got a picture of where they go to hand but can try to upload something if you want.
Whatever you do, don't try it out without the guys as you will be off like something from the Wizard of Oz!
ps- if you do get the guys sorted, then this is a great tent, apart from a design problem with the skylight (it 'puddles' in heavy rain and sags)- can tell you how to sure this though!

This is the one in question, I've had a reply from Coleman and they have said that 'Many thanks for your email. Apart from the flysheet there are no further guyropes attached', I think i'll try those grip type things to attach the ropes, cheers for all the help. I'll let you know how i get on
