I managed to pick one of these up for the bargain price of £8 :D And fortunately it appears to be in fantastic condition.

However I have a few queries.

How on earth does the porch bit work? I have the two poles in four seperate pieces but no idea how to get it up??? It came with a small green tarpaulin piece is that the base for the porch???

The inner bedroom seems very loose when all hooked in, with the roof billowing, is this normal? Any way to tighten it up?

Also there appears to be hooks for a room divider but no reviews say there was one, is there meant to be?

And do I have any hope of getting a double airbed and two ready beds squashed into  it??!!!!

What are all the elastic hairband looking bits on the inside for? I suspected something to do with a groundsheet but theres some on the sides where the bedroom goes??? Or is the groundsheet meant to go under that too??

Finally it didn't come with a clip in groundsheet which I suspect it was meant to, is there anywhere I can get one from?

Thanks so much in advance!!!! Sorry about the 100s of questions!!!

Hi Lunavix.

Had a Coleman Bispace 400 for a few years, a good tent- very sturdy and superbly waterproof.

Hopefully I can answer some of your queries.

The porch works by putting the  pointy end of the poles into the holes at the end of the flap and hooking 2 guy ropes over the ends and pegging them down. The poles work better when put at a slight angle with the feet towards the tent. Not sure what the small tarp is for, we never had anything that went on the porch floor, maybe this was added by the tents previous owner.

The bedroom roof if hooked up wasn't tight, and the room divider was an optional extra, however it does make a good drying/airing line17

We managed to get just a double airbed in the bedroom with room for clothes.

The 'hairband' bits are for tensioning the tent IIRC, and ours came with a groundsheet for the living area. It was a peg down one not clip in. You should be able to replace it with one that meets the living room dimensions.

Hope this was of some use, maybe you could google bispace 400 and see if you can come across any more info there. (There's still plenty on there- just looked). Edit

Best wishes

We've got a bispace.....we manage to get a double airbed and a campbed for the 6y/o......but now we're 2+2 we've consigned it to the loft for a dutch pyramid.

Superb tent and we've been in some strong wind without a worry, we only have a tarp for the living area and no tent divider.

Our bedroom section is fairly loose and I've pitched it enough times to know,The hairband things(white and black??) They are the pegging down points and then it has a apron type arrangement (I'm not really explaining myself am I?!) for ventilation there's cords to raise the apron(skirt).

I think you'll have trouble getting a pair of readybeds in also 17 top price though17

Once you get the hang of pitching it is a doddle.
